about

Hi, I'm Cindy McCartney, owner of Diva.

In 2006 I decided I'd had enough of my career in corporate cosmetics. I was ready to embark on something new. While I was thinking about my next move, I looked at my closet and realized that all of my frenzied shopping trips had resulted in a home overflowing with beautiful, but unworn, designer clothing. I began having neighborhood "Cindy's Closet" sales which were so successful that my answer was in front of my eyes--a consignment store!

I loved consignment shopping, but at that point in time, when most people thought of consignment, they envisioned an overstuffed "thrift store". I wanted my store to be a boutique with a European-feeling, welcoming and elegant atmosphere. And so Diva was born. The store is named for one of my crazy rescue dachshunds who already had her name when we adopted her...and she definitely lives up to it...I guess she is really the owner of the store!

Our goal is for our customers to have fun during their visit. You'll find a warm atmosphere where women end up helping each other choose the perfect outfit. We were chosen as the consignment store with the "best vibe" in the Washington metro area by Washingtonian Magazine, as well as "Best Consignment Shop" by Washingtonian and Northern Virginia Magazines.

We carry women’s brands which range from Chanel, Prada, Gucci and Michael Kors to J. Crew, Tory Burch and Anthropologie--and we receive new items daily. The great thing is that you'll be paying a mere fraction of what they originally cost, not to mention that you are helping the enviroment by recycling. In addition to the well-edited selection of clothing, we feature a collection of jewelry, as well as shoes, handbags, scarves and other unique accessories.

I hope you will visit the store soon and experience Diva for yourself!
